2005 will mark 20 years since the initial broadcast of Anne of Green Gables and it seems that now is the time for a 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD.
Previous releases of this classic have been less than stellar and this Classic deserves a DVD with better sound and picture quality, as well as bonus features. A 2-Disc set could hold more special features, including a documentary reunion with members of the cast, an audio commentary with Megan Follows, as well as an extensive picture gallery. The 17 minute Megan Follows audition would also make another great extra. With Haygood Hardy's beautiful score, a Dolby Stereo Surround track or even a 5.1 DTS audio track would definitely benefit the music and enhance the presentation. An animated menu with the famous Haygood Hardy theme from the film with chapter selections would also be appreciated.
Let's all ask Sullivan for a better DVD presentation of this beloved Canadian Classic.
