Apply the French law volume output regulations on Apple iPod to France and France only.

European owners of Apples iPod have to put up with alot of things that the US owners never have to, such as higher prices, later release dates and no "Apple Events". Due to french law the iPod has to be regulated to 100db volume output and this should be followed, but the law applies to France and France only.
Apple started this regulation in the release of firmware 1.2.1 by releasing two versions, one US and one European version. Which is strange because the law applies to France, and France only, not the whole Europe. But atleast this solution let you choose for yourself if you lived outside France and get more then 100db volume output by just downloading the US version instead of the European version. In the release of firmware version 1.2.6 there was only one version to download, this version checked for itself in which country you were situated by checking the regional settings in your OS, such as timezone and keyboard layout. This seams to be a perfectly good way of following French regulations. But yet again Apple has regulated the volume for the whole Europe.
This petition calls for Apple to get a grip on customer service, and release firmware, where if it recognizes itself, or you choose it in the installation setup, that if you are situated outside of France, even if situated in Europe, or in the rest of the world, the volume regulation will not be applied. If Apple continues to treat european customers so poorly, I have no intention of ever purchasing another Apple product again.
