Foie gras in modern factory farms is produced with intense cruelty inflicted on geese and ducks. For the last two weeks of their lives the birds are locked into wire cages where they cannot move or escape mechanized feeding systems. An enormous amount of corn-and-oil mixture is pumped by a machine directly into their gullets, up to one-third of the birds' own body weight each day, until their livers are ten times their normal size, and the birds can scarcely stand, walk, or even breathe, struggling to stand using their wings to push themselves forward when their crippled legs can no longer support them.
“Farm Sanctuary, in cooperation with Canadian group Global Action Network (GAN) has released Round 2 of its investigation into the Canadian foie gras industry,” and I have viewed the video:

I strongly urge Canada to join other countries and some US states and ban the sale of fois gras and its production: 2006 Chicago banned the sale of foie gras; 2004 California passed a law banning the sale and production of foie gras effective 2012; 2002 Pope Benedict XVI denounced force-feeding of geese as being in violation of Biblical principles; Other countries who have banned the force feeding of animals for foie gras production are: Israel, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Luxembourg, Norway, and Poland, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Please support the ban of sale and its production by signing this petition.
