Be Quiet, Blue Fins!

Nearly every Saturday during the post-school summer, the "Blue Fins" swim team holds practices and/or meets at the Barrintong neighborhood pool. Often these begin before 8AM, when much of the area is still asleep. Many of us living close to the pool are awakened by the sounds of buzzing megaphone horns, screaming swim team members, and clapping and cheering family members. It's great spirit and support for the team, but it's VERY obnoxious and rude to those not involved with it at that hour on a weekend! Those of us in the few houses directly across from the pool have complained numerous times over recent years before - both to the team and to the Police.

If they insist on holding these events at that hour, we insist that the "Blue Fins" keep the noise to a near silent level. Regular pool hours are 12PM to 8PM, 7 days a week until pool season ends. The "Blue Fins" are there well before that timeframe, making loud noises. If we continue to be awakened and/or disturbed by these events, We will consider recruiting police presence at each of them to ensure the noise is kept at a respectful level. If they cannot, we will urge the "Blue Fins" to practice elsewhere or at a more respectful time to those who are affected by the noise level.
