The Swiss People's Party (SVP) of Switzerland has created an atmosphere of fear and hatred of Islam and Muslims by launching an initiative to prohibit building of minarets on mosques in Switzerland. The campaign leading up to the voting has been Islamophobic and hateful.
Some of the Swiss Media such as Tagesanzeiger, a Swiss German newspaper has been extremely anti-Muslim and published scare stories to swing people's votes against the Muslims.
The Swiss voted to accept prohibition of mosques and minarets on November 29th 2009 and the situation for Muslims in Switzerland is becoming dangerous.
In view of the above we the Africa Muslim Party of South Africa call upon all peace and freedom loving people around the world to boycott Swiss products, and to avoid traveling to Switzerland as tourists.
