In 2008, NASA made the decision to retire the Space Shuttles. They will be available for permanent display to qualifying institutions. The mission of the Brazos Valley Shuttle Project is to bring one of the Space Shuttles to a new Science and History Museum to be located in College Station, Texas.
We, the undersigned, support the efforts of the Brazos Valley Shuttle Project and call on NASA to locate a Space Shuttle in the new Brazos Valley Science and History Museum recognizing the deep connection both NASA and the Space Shuttle have with our state, and the ease of access to a large portion of the population a central Texas location such as the Brazos Valley offers. Furthermore, we recognize the enormous economic, social, and cultural benefits the Space Shuttle and a Science and History Research Museum would bring to the Brazos Valley and Texas.
