Dear Ms. Blackwell and Mr. Mosko:
I am writing in regards to the possibility of adding The Edge of Night, the long-running half-hour mystery-oriented serial that aired on CBS (and later your "parent" network, ABC) for almost thirty years, to your growing lineup of classic soap operas.
From 1956 until 1984, The Edge of Night was a unique presence in the soap opera community. Its distinctive blend of traditional soap opera elements (romance, drama, and suspense) and Perry Mason-esque intrigue set it apart from the other daytime serials. Despite being off the air for almost twenty years, its popularity as endured. Fans all over the country are still interested in the show and would definitely tune into SoapNet, if you decided to broadcast reruns of the series on your network.
Attached you will find a list of people who agree that your network would benefit from adding The Edge of Night to your stable of shows. I sincerely hope that seeing what tremendous support this show still has will inspire you to look into adding it to your schedule.
