CALLING ALL VETERANS

Whereas this Nation, the United States of America, finds itself engaged in a war, in Iraq, initiated by our current sitting President George W. Bush and authorized by congress utilizing the proper and legal congressional procedure/s and...

Whereas, these same congresspersons have had a crisis of courage and integrity and reverted to their normal modus operandi of pussilanimous prevarication for political prospects and...

Whereas, these feckless entities have shown by this pattern of behavior they they can be relied upon to do naught, but commit our armed forces into harms way and then abandon them and...

Whereas, standing by in frustrated anger observing such is NOT AN OPTION for veterans who have served and have a much greater respect for the traditional values of this Nation than the politicians elected to represent them

We, the undersigned petitioners, demand of the Secretary of Defense that he present this petition to the President.

Our demands are simple and are as follows:
1. We volunteer ourselves in service to our Nation, again, for any field/support billet which the Secretary may deem practical and for which we had been qualified to fill by military job billet/rank upon our former service severance.
2. We ask no more and expect no less in training, benefits and allowances than that which is currently offered for our severance rank minus one (1) pay grade, as a full and fair concession to age.
3.a. We demand that for every 1,000 veterans who sign this commitment petition that one (1) congressperson be conscripted into service and provided with the similar grunt training as a new recruit.
b. We insist that each politician assigned to a field position, read all, shall be assigned a position of point at least 100 yards ahead of his comrades and that should he/she stray from that position of responsibility, he/she shall become what is known as a target of opportunity for the troops to his/her rear who are depending upon him/her. We fully realize that politicians have no self-control and no sense of responsibility now. This will go a long way towards amending that little character flaw.
4. We fully realize that as we approach and surpass the 600,000 level of volunteers we shall have conscripted the entire congress. This shall guarantee that never again in our future will veterans have to endure the sham of having their lives held in the hands of they who, when push comes to shove, can always be relied upon to revert to their politically generic image of pablum-puking, vacillating, disrespectful, irresponsible and onorous entities.

With these straightforward and simple demands we rest our case. I and the few who saw fit to start this petition have done so with the intent to send a very real message. This is not a joke. Politicians..., one may observe react to pressure and outside influences for they are short on principle and long on feathering their own nests. Just possibly, this may succeed in creating a groundswell to really get their attention. You brother vets, as always, have that burden of responsibility to pass the word to others who, in turn, will do the same. The integrity of this Nation and lives of our armed forces personnel currently in harms way depend upon it.
