Campign Sign Ordinance

Political Campaign signs come and go each election season; some of these signs are just left on the side of the road. This is a major issue during November in Massachusetts as the weather gets worse. Winds pick up and blow these signs around and pose a danger to property and people.
As an example; on November 27, 2010 I was driving down Rte 114 in Peabody and a campaign sign of Bill Hudak running for U.S. Congress blew across Rte 114 and caused significant damage to my vehicle.
I propose we add an ordinance to limit the posting of Political Campaign yard signs to 30 Days prior to an election and 7 days preceding an election. Any other times of the year these signs are present will result in a fine.
