This is my beloved dog; she was killed on the railway lines in Harlow Town Park on the 2nd December, 2009.
Did you know there is no safety fencing along these railway lines? Did you know that dogs and children can gain access? Do you know how many dogs are killed by trains in this country? Do you know how many are never found with desperate owners still searching in vain?
This is a public place where our dogs and children play; it is unacceptable to have railway lines with no safety fencing in a park.
It is too late for my Cassie, but you can help save another life - maybe even your own dog's life. Please add your voice to our campaign to erect metal fencing here so that you may walk your dogs in safety, then hopefully, you will never know the pain and heartbreak of losing your beloved dog on this railway line.
We have the support of Harlow Council, Robert Halfon MP, and animal welfare organisations, but we also need YOU, the public. PLEASE help us.
We, THE UNDERSIGNED, call upon Harlow Council, Robert Halfon MP, Harlow Town Station and Network Rail to erect metal pailings along the railway line from Harlow Town Station to Templefields Industrial Estate (the length of the park) to ensure the safety of town park users and their dogs.
We DEMAND Network Rail fulfills its duty to ensure public safety in our park.
This campaign is in memory of my Cassie, who gave her life so others may live.
Thank you for caring.
