Clair Patterson - Nobel Prize

I respectfully ask the Nobel Prize foundation to disregard its 1974 statutes on posthumous awards and consider Clair Cameron Patterson for the Nobel Prize in physics. The reasons for the nomination are for Mr Pattersons work in establishing the weight of the earth through his uranium-lead dating method. The reason for disregarding the 1974 statute on posthumous awards is that Mr Patterson continued his work (suffering substantial personal and financial loss) proving and campaigning against the dangers of lead pollution.


Whilst not disagreeing with the 1974 statues without Mr Pattersons work and the protections it eventually achieved, the earths environment would have been damaged beyond even todays measure. Without such work there may be one day no one left alive to be a Nobel Prize nominee or winner. It is crucial to reward the work of those who employ their intellect for the benefit of all humanity, above any financial remuneration.
