This petition aims to build a network of members of the general public frustrated by the infringement imposed by Gold Coast City Council: "Offence 600: Bring a motor vehicle onto or drive a motor vehicle on a park or reserve. Penalty $243" in the location regarded as the area adjacent to Parkwood Sharks Junior Rugby Club and the road connecting this facility to Musgrave Avenue in Southport, QLD.
This petition also aims to:
(1) Convey to the Gold Coast City Council that the general public have no reason to believe that this area is considered a park due to the lack of signage labelling the area as such. Meanwhile parks in surrounding areas are clearly labelled (ie: Keith Hunt Park & Musgrave Park), thus highlighting the need for signage within the area of concern.
(2) Support the view that appropriate signage is required within the area to clearly inform patrons that the area is a park and vehicle parking is restricted.
(3) Bring to light the inequity of the fining system due to some regions in the aforementioned area attracting fines, where in other regions other vehicles (also parked on the grass) are not being fined. This deems the parking situation in this area very misleading and therefore the fines of question unjust.
(4) Support the view that Gold Coast City Council has made an error in the handing out of these fines due to the above points.
