We, the undersigned, strongly urge the present owners of the mothballed Port Ellen distillery on the Isle of Islay, Diageo, to convert the existing buildings for the creation of an Islay Whisky Museum to benefit not only the local inhabitants but also whisky lovers around the world. We also urge Diageo to immediately replace the distillery's famous and distinctive pagodas which were recently removed in an act of industrial vandalism.
Ultimately, we would like to see Port Ellen distillery return to its proper function - the production of Port Ellen Single malt Whisky.
