We, the players of Dark Age of Camelot (hereafter: the Players) hereby come to offer this, our petition to Mythic Entertainment in regard to Dark Age of Camelot.

GROUNDS

The expansion to DAoC, Foundations (hereafter: Housing) failed the Players of DAoC in its release and is being outdated quickly as a cash-sink.

First the objectives (cash sink) of housing is met by the proposed expansion "New Frontiers", players will not want to keep paying rent for their house as RvR costs will continue to keep their money spent and do not need another cash sink. Active player even if they are casual should be able to partake in the Foundation expansion. Having extra chores to keep up with puts an unfair burden on the game player to keep track of the time. Mythic has put some warnings however there are those that this system has failed and have lost items/currency and time in the expansion.

Certain players have lost their house and had money on their Consignment Merchant (herein: CM). Whether this is a bug or not, it has not been acknowledged by Mythic. The main goal of the game is to have fun and partaking of chores ingame to keep a guildhouse or house by being forced to sign in and pay fees for non-limited resource is truly taking away from the game.

Owning a house with merchants affords luxuries that all players should be able to participate in however with the added responsibility takes away from their game tremendously. Here by adding more timesinks and unneeded cash sinks to pay even more monthly time away from RvR/Farming/Game Play. Forcing active players to take time away from their Realm, MLs, and real life just so they do not lose their house which provides gear storage, trophy placement, gear trading and ports.

FURTHERMORE

Mythic has not addressed the concerns expressed by players that have not seen the warning messages and have had their house taken away or why this rent feature will remain in the game as Foundation is not limited in how many houses it can support. Customer support by Mythic has been burdened with these rent issues and causing even longer in-game ques for them to tell people that they didnt pay their rent and that they can not do anything. For the sake of resources, Mythic should address this problem by not forcing rent on non-limited resources that also takes away from their limited resource called Customer Support.

OUR PLEA

For the reasons stated above, we, the Players, formally request that Mythic address the concerns stated above along with any other concerns known to them pertaining to the expansion, Foundations, in their forum, the Camelot Herald at www.camelotherald.com either by and through this agent or otherwise. http://vnboards.ign.com/Foundations_Discussion_Board/b22500/

The concerns to be addressed include the burden of trinketing and farming for ingame currency to pay for the needs of RvR as well as managing to have fun in the game and acting as a realm. Foundations takes away from these goals and forces players to farm and trinket just to keep/store/sell their spoils of war, and/or time spend crafting.

Specifically Mythic should state that it understands these concerns and should illustrate what it plans to do in order to fix the problems with the economical condition that is within DAoC.

We furthermore state that this petition is not to slander Mythic but to give rise to the possibility of repairing the damage caused by the issues above to make the game more enjoyable for all.
