En Italia, Silvio Berlusconi, en reacción a un escenario político cada vez más adverso a él y bajo la sombra de un juicio por prostitución de menores, intentó forzar en el Parlamento una ley de censura.

Pero los miembros italianos de Avaaz no se quedaron de brazos cruzados, y unidos, reunieron 70 mil firmas e hicieron miles de llamadas telefónicas al Parlamento justo antes de la votación. Berlusconi perdió y la democracia en Italia salió vencedora.
