By signing this petition I am making a clear stand against the failures of Square-Enix to stop the rampant cheating within FFXI. By allowing bots to continually take over rare mobs to sell their treasures for high amounts of Gil and not stopping use of fishing bots until two years after the game's release has removed the enjoyment of the game. At present Im a past player considering coming back, a current player, or thinking about joining the world of FFXI. With most servers now tainted by this relentless cheating, I request the creation of a clean server, one in which no player may transfer from another server so their tainted Gil does not enter the new servers economy. Along with this measure I would like to see the locking of all (or most) rare items to players, so that when people on this new server collect rare loot they are prevented from selling it so there is no incentive for someone to place a bot at a spawn point 24/7 to create a in-game monopoly. For FFXI is a game, and like any game you must earn your rewards! Its not like at the Olympics a person can simply open a wallet and buy the gold medal, they must to earn it, because it would cheapen the value of the medal and destroy any reason for the other players to continue playing. If you do not share the passion we as players have for your game, then at least let this petition be sign that we players know your game can be better and demand better from it.
Note: I am not asking for any change to be done to any current server, only the creation of a single server, where the value of a player is not the size of his or her bank account, but their ability and strength.
