End the Gay Stereotyping

We the undersigned, as customers of your industry, demand fair treatment of homosexual characters in movies for teenagers. Teens use those stereotypes you display to define all homosexuals they meet causing them to be less likely to become acquainted with the individual instead of just the stereotype. Over time exposure to these negative stereotypes in movies will give the teens negative associations towards homosexuals. This, in turn, will cause these teens to treat homosexuals differently than everyone else, contributing to:

1. The increase in verbal/physical harassment in schools
2. Increased suicide attempts and completed suicides for adolescent homosexuals
3. More hate crimes committed against homosexuals, including murder

If you believe in the equal right for everyone to pursue happiness, as our founding fathers intended, than you must change the way homosexuals are depicted in your movies.
