At the last federal election, NSW Labor targeted the ethnic vote, and used campaign tactics directly contacting voters in an array of foreign languages especially targeting Chinese, Vietnamese, Lebanese and Urdu speaking communities. Labor and the Greens also used election material such as flyers, how-to-vote cards and placards printed in foreign languages, and volunteers on the ground before and on election day.
Party for Freedom believes Australian elections on all levels of government should use the English language only and electoral material including placards, flyers and how-to-vote cards should be printed in English only. If an Australian citizen cannot speak English, it is almost impossible to make informed decisions that are free of manipulation or coerce. Therefore, citizens who do not speak English should not hold the right to vote.
Party for Freedom has started this online petition demanding the Australian Electoral Commission and Federal Parliament uphold democracy by legislating that future elections be conducted in English only. There should be no more electoral material available in foreign languages.
Our position is clear - No English, No Vote.
