Evolution Dance Team Support

This is a team for all college/university students who live in the Durham Region area. If you are a student of ANY college or university, or have graduated in the last 3 years then you can be a part of this amazing competitive dance team. Dance follows many people. Once we start college it is so hard to keep up dance at the studio or club we danced with all our lives. This is a team for ladies and gents who want to continue our passion of dance. We are not related to any specific school - we are an independent team that relies on fundraising and sponsors, as well as our own pocket money, to get us through each season. We have to rent rehearsal space which can get very expensive. Last year, the rent ate our entire budget. This season we are lucky enough to have a studio sponsor us with rental space. This season, many competitions are setting rules that you must represent ONE specific school and all be full time students in order to compete at the competition and qualify for overall awards and such. I would like to know why we do not qualify to compete against these other schools when we meet the rules and guidelines and work just as hard. There would be no other opportunites for these dancers if this team didnt exist. Please support our team by signing this petition.
