We, Ofra Haza fans from all over the world, are greatly respecting and honouring you and decided to write you this petition due to several copyright questions and issues which for us became a great matter of concern.
We all are somehow involved in spreading around information on Ofra Haza. May it be songs, or pictures, or web layouts, or websites, or videos. Some are a long time in this state of mind, some just discovered Ofra not a long time ago.
We come from different countries, different cultural backgrounds, different generations but we all have one thing in common: we love Ofra and we feel that especially now we have the duty to remind others of her and keep her memory alive.
We know, we all did not ask you or any other responsible for the copyright of a permission to publish our work or to upload videos for example at Youtube. We know that we might violate several rights of companies or yours since there are many people who own the rights on Ofra Haza media and pictures.
But all of our work which we do is non-commercial, non-profit and we do not make or have in mind to make any business with it.
We just do this for
sharing
promoting
informing
reminding of
Ofra Haza, the late Israeli singer who the world would not really care
about nowadays without our work and effort, no matter how illegal it
might be.
Today our work is threatened to be deleted and removed. The owner of Ofra Haza Official website which is finally established and which we are very happy to welcome here, finally, after 7 years, does not welcome us the same way. Some of us were already asked to remove their work from the internet. Other companies will follow this example and try to do the same. Today we do not feel safe while honouring Ofras legacy together because it seems for us to be forbidden to do it in public. Nevertheless, the purposes of every one of us have never changed and our aim is not to violate the rights but to make Ofra even more popular today.
We often remember how greatly discomforted she felt when the rivalry between her and Yardena Arazi's fans started.
She was against war, she wrote and sung for everyone and wanted her
music to break down borders and fill souls with its magical spirit.
There shouldn't be now a war between the ones who remained.
Dear Mr Aloni, we know your tolerance and your unconditional love for Ofra and your engagement to promote her art during her life and after her death. We hope also to count on your understanding for the things we do and the reason for it. We do not want to believe that it was you who ordered this wave of removals and threats. We hope you will help us in this issue so that we can all work together and give Ofras spirit here on earth a new life in the hearts and minds of others.
Thank you very much.
