I, Ameet Joshi, a 21 year old graduate from the University of Maryland faced racial discrimination over the phone from a local Pizza Hut chain off of Darnestown Road in Gaithersburg, Maryland. After an hour of waiting, I called to inquire about my order. When I told them I didn't want to pay for late pizza, the lady over the phone told her co-workers jokingly that we have Indians on the phone who don't want to pay, and they all laughed at that comment. She said it twice, and continued to laugh. When I asked for the manager, she said she was the manager, and I promptly hung up the phone, knowing I must seek justice from these vicious and malicious individuals.
I am asking the Indian community to help me boycott the local Pizza Hut chain in Gaithersburg, MD. Those who discriminate against someone whose name is Joshi and not Johnson deserve to not have the business of our community.
I seek your help and solidarity.

I am not Indian, but that does not mean that I can stand by and let things like this happen. I sincerely hope that the manager is brought to "justice," if such a thing is possible. She deserves worse than losing her job.
