So long as the LTTE is being funded by Tamils living overseas, there cant be peace. Once the funding stops, the war will stop and life will surely return to normal. The Tamils living overseas have been mislead and blinded by the truth and therefore are responsible for the plight of other Tamils living under the brutal hand of the LTTE. They must be held responsible for the prolonged war in this country and for all the crimes committed against all communities living in Sri Lanka as they continue funding the LTTE.

The Legitimate Government of Sri Lanka has a right to defend it self and retaliate if attacked, it has the right to protect all communities alike and not just a section of it. One thing that cannot be ignored or forgotten is that much has been done to improve the living standards of Tamils living outside LTTE controlled areas. It is a fact that most of the Tamil population of Sri Lanka live outside the LTTE controlled areas and they share equality in every possible sense, run their legitimate businesses, go to schools and are free of harassment, intimidation or fear of abduction, they are able to sleep at night peacefully knowing that they need not hide in a jungle and are protected and supported by the other communities whom they share and live amicably with. Those living in the LTTE controlled areas are living under a total reign of Terror and are not free. They are used as Pawns and Shields and sacrificed for Prabhakarans cause which is a separate state, make no mistake about this. Most of the problems faced by the Tamil people living in LTTE controlled areas have been brought about by his distorted thinking. The LTTE does not want peace, this is as clear as crystal glass. They fear the democratic process and system as they feel intimidated and believe that it will not work for them. They are not the savior, nor are they the sole representatives of the Tamil people, they are the true enemy. They kill all those who disagree with them.

The ugly and unacceptable cast system that still exists amongst the Tamils must also be blamed; solving issues living and thinking in this manner is not the key; this is totally ridiculous and cannot be a reason why everyone in this country must suffer.

Remember, we are no longer living in the eighties of the last century.

Mistakes have been made but not forgotten, let us stop and think a while how we may eradicate a menace that has taken the lives of thousands and shattered the dreams of Millions.

Stop funding the LTTE, ban them instead and help bring in a lasting peace so that all communities living in Sri Lanka can share, develop and live as equals.
