FOR ANIMALS IN LABORITORIES

Here are some examples of these horrific experiments:
- Since 1992, Elliot Spindel at Oregon Health and Science University delivers steady doses of nicotine to pregnant monkeys through pumps implanted into their backs. The babies are cut out of their mothers' wombs in order to dissect their lungs.
- Researcher Kent Pinkerton at University of California, Davis, subjects pregnant rhesus monkeys to smoking chambers where they are forced to inhale cigarette smoke for six hours each day, five days a week. When the infants are ten weeks old, they are killed by lethal injection and their lungs are dissected for analysis.
These callous animal researchers staunchly defend their experiments as supposedly being "necessary" for improving maternal and newborn health. However, after decades of horrific animal experiments, they STILL have not solved the problem of smoking during pregnancy. Theh truth is, only education, public health outreach, and prevention programs can solve the problem of nicotine addiction and solve the human behaviors that lead to smoking. That's what they need to channel their funds toward, not the unnecessary torture of innocent animals.
I implore you to please sign this petition so that these innocent creatures will not have to suffer unnecessarily.
