Dear Prime Minister,
We, the undersigned citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, call on you to initiate a Commission of Enquiry into the Urban Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago (UDECOTT). Further, we are requesting that you authorize the relevant Government department or agency to begin a forensic audit of the UDECOTT.
In light of recent, similar public calls from no less quarters than former senior minister Dr. Keith Rowley, the Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute and the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association, we believe both the Enquiry and forensic audit will help to restore public conference in the administration of public funds if nothing is found to be amiss. If, on the other hand, irregularities, or worse are uncovered, as head of the Executive, you would have done your duty.
We also request that the Commission of Enquiry be held in public and that it begin within the next three months. Once it is complete, we urge you to make the Commissions report public.
We hope and trust that you will take action forthwith.
