In recognition of International Women's Day, Misalee Ali, a 15 year old local, internationally known Amharic and English poet and human rights activist asks you to join her in bringing justice to two women imprisoned in Ethiopia.
As we celebrate International Women's Day on March the 8th, be part of the struggle for human rights and march with Misalee. Come and join us from all over the world, from Winnipeg to Ottawa and from Ottawa to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, by signing the petition below for the immediate release of
Birtkuan Midikasa and Aberash Berta
Your signature will travel far (13,125 km) and convince the ruling Ethiopian government that these women should be set free. Your signature will bring positive change and freedom for these two women and hope for many others.
Misalee herself will take the petition and present it to officials in Ottawa.
We the undersigned are asking for the immediate release of Birtkuan Midikasa in prison since 2004) and Aberash Berta (in prison since 1992), two well-known political activists in prison for their convictions.
