FREE GUNS N' ROSES SHOW FOR PHILLY!!!

To: Axl Rose and Guns N' Roses,Sanctuary Management and Interscope
Records/Universal Media Group.

WE,the undersigned,wholeheartedly agree that the loyal fans of Philadelphia,PA are owed one (1) free concert from the rock band Guns N' Roses.
This is due to the late cancellation/riot of the December 6,2002 scheduled show.

WE ask that Axl Rose and Guns N' Roses kick off their next United States tour in Philly and do so at no cost to make-up for said concert.

By doing so,this would:

1) Completely make amends* with Philly's loyal GN'R fans and undoubtedly
draw in new fans in the process.

2) Guarantee themselves incredible worldwide -> positive showing how much they love and appreciate their Philly,and U.S.,fans.

3) Be an exciting and fun way to start a new tour!!
It would be,literally,history in the making!!! Who wouldn't love to
see a free Guns N' Roses show?!?
People would come from far and wide to attend such an awesome event
and it would be remembered for many years to come.


Suggested sites for said free concert would be the Wachovia (formerly First Union) Center in South Philly,(the arena where the canceled show was to be held) the Wachovia Center parking lot** or across the street at FDR Park.

Both would be more than adequate for such an event. (It should be noted that FDR Park held the largest crowd ever for a Lollapalooza concert,back in July of 1994,at more than 43,000 strong,so this would be the smarter choice.)

Ticketing such an undertaking could be tricky. If they wanted to play the same arena,Philly fans should get first dibs,obviously. So the free tickets would go to anyone who still had their December 6,2002 ticket stubs and a simple exchange at the box office,at NO charge,would be given.
Philly fans would have one (1) week to to this transaction and then the rest of the free tickets would be released to the rest of the public.

GN'R Mgmt. could set the limit depending on venue and go from there. If they decided to play in the arena,the tickets would be limited at 20,000 or so.

If they decided to play in FDR Park,a simple announcement of when and where would suffice with no tickets necessary and the rest would fall into place.
The only people needed to really staff this venue would police and merchandisers selling GN'R gear,etc. The same would be in effect for the parking lot venue.



This would be an absolutely incredible event and WE,the undersigned,as loyal Guns N' Roses fans,ask that this free show transpire and make it come to fruition.

*This would not be an "official" mea culpe for the 2002 riot from GN'R and their Mgmt.,etc.,as there are still legal issues/lawsuits in motion as a result of said concert,but,more as a "Thank you" for being really cool and loyal fans for many years over.

**Previous free concert in parking lot was Metallica's "Million Decibel March" back on November 11,1997 to help promote a new album,not a tour.
True,local neighbors did protest and tried to fight the free show through litigation but,eventually lost and later complained not about the concert noise or the band's fans but,from the overhead noise from news choppers covering the event. Police also cited fans as being better behaved than Eagles fans. Attendance was roughly 40,000.
