Dad of 5 Derek was sent to mount joy Prison on Mon 5th March for failing to remove his log cabin based in Portrane, Co Dublin. In a recession with no money around Fingal County Council decide to use tax payers money to bring this man through the courts for the last 3 years and to take his home off him (not much bigger than your average shed) ON HIS OWN LAND and use taxpayers money to give him a council house for the rest of his days. The log cabin is not much bigger than a shed and his placed on his own land in Portrane. Fingal County Council were to house him as ruled by the judge and both were in agreement of 3 offers of a house, 1 week before the court Derek got an offer of a house not in the area he had agreed with & thinking that he had one more offer to refuse he did so, only to be thrown into jail the following week. Fingal County Council & the government of Ireland are an absolute disgrace to this country & we the Irish People need to come together protect our own land, Property & our community spirit and stand together. This INNOCENT man should be freed! Your support is not only for Derek but for ourselves as Irish citizens to tell these government bodies that we will not accept that because you try & live an honest life that they just throw you in jail & throw away the key! ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!!
