My domain is being held hostage. I have had it hosted at World Hosting Central for several years now. There have been minimal problems and for the most part I have been happy.
About 3 months ago, I couldn't get into anything. I found out that my domain name lapsed. I never knew it was even due. This is when I found out all the contact information for my domain name was in the name of World Hosting Central. I didn't even have a user name and password I could use to do anything with my domain.
The lapsed domain problem got solved and I got my domain name back. Then a few weeks ago, I decided that I couldn't afford to pay for web space at this moment and sent this email to World Hosting Central on April 2nd:
"This is to let you know I am giving you my official 30 day notice that I will no longer be needing your services for hosting my web page www.jenuwine.com. I will have every thing removed by the end of April or before. Also would you please put my domain name in my name immediately and make sure that you tell them to unlock it so if I decide to use it I can manage it myself. Please let me know when you have done this. Please, also, send me the pass code so I can manage my account as well."
I got the following reply:
"What is this. I am shocked that you are leaving. Is it something that I have done or not done? If it is I would hope you would tell me. I will do as you asked. It will take till probley wensday for it to happen. But it will be done for ya."
It is now April 23rd and I have had to bring a third party in on it to get my domain name back. He still has not released my domain, that I paid for, to me.

He not only owns your domain that you pay for but he also thinks its ok for him to read all your email that comes through too! There ought to be an internet court!
