Freedom of Alternative Lifestyles in Workplace

Many jobs have 'dress codes' that dictate restrictions on expression, such as hair colors. They claim it is unprofessional to have blue, green, pink, etc hair. Why? How is it any different than any other hair color? Because it isn't natural? How is someone who was born a blond but dyes their hair black any different? It is bold, and unnatural. How is a color that is okay to wear on clothing or accessories not okay to have on your hair? Logically, it just doesn't make sense. It all comes down to prejudice and close-minded teachings and rules.
All we want is the freedom to be who we are, and have a job at the same time.
What we want is the same rights granted to others under the EOE (http://www.eeoc.gov/). Jobs that don't discriminate against race, sex, creed, religion, color, or national origin should not have the right to discriminate against us on OUR alternative lifestyle. The way we choose to live our life and appear in public does not change our qualifications or our ability to do the work assigned.
Please, change this barbaric society and allow decent, hardworking people to earn a living while not having to sacrifice who they are. After all the things Americans have overcome, there is still a lot of work to be done to stop prejudice against those who are different.
