Freedom of Religion and Individual Rights

We, the People, respectfully reserve our right to petition as provided by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, to ensure that no law limits the rights of any citizen in this land.
By separation of church and state, laws based in religious morality have no legal basis whatsoever. We respectfully call that NO law incorporate religious doctrine, such as laws stating that marriage is defined as "a union between a man and a woman," for example. This definition is based on religious morality and therefore has no legal basis. If two adults wish to be legally recognized as married, their government must recognize them.
In several areas of daily life, such as the workplace, it is considered illegal to discriminate based on race, creed, gender or SEXUAL ORIENTATION. Why would any law be permitted that DID discriminate on those grounds?
People who believe, by their religion or otherwise, that marriage is strictly between a man and a woman need not fear; they are also protected by the First Amendment. We are all free to believe as we wish, but no one can legislate religion.
Each citizen is, by law, free to choose their religion, and therefore laws mandating tenets of a religion are, by proxy, unconstitutional.
Therefore,
Believing that any law incorporating religious doctrine is discriminatory, inherently unconstitutional as a violation of the First Amendment as well as a clear violation of the constitutional separation of church and state, the battle will be taken to the Supreme Court, if need be.
So long as the law denies basic civil rights, we will continue to assume our First Amendment right to peacefully assemble---until our government becomes what it says it is.
Don't deny adults who love each other the right to marry.
