Freedom of the Press Without Insult

As you are probably aware, the offensive caricatures of the Muslim's prophet Muhammad have been published in The Cadre (Charlottetown, P.E.I.), Le Devoir (Montreal, Quebec), the Jewish Free Press (Calgary, Alberta), and the Western Standard (Calgary, Alberta). It is sad that the Canadian government is not taking any disciplinary action against these newspapers who have, through their so called "freedom of the press," infringed upon the rights that are guaranteed to Canadians under Section 27 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms which states: "This Charter shall be interpreted in a manner consistent with the preservation and enhancement of the multicultural heritage of Canadians." We believe that these newspapers should make a public apology to all Canadians for their insulting copycat behaviour of disrespect to religion.
It is very vital for Canada to remain a culturally diverse country and it is crucial for the government to deter any further disrespect to religion.
