Please help! My loved one has been incarcerated under a new law in the state of Virginia and this law does not allow for a chance at the parole board...ever. He (we) have been in the prison system for 10 years now and he has 7 more to go unless I can get your help with this petition and we may have a chance of getting him reconized by the committee of Virginia... then and only then will he (we) be able to start "our family" together.
We the undersigned, are writing to you because we are concerned about the passing of Bill SB 805 formerly SB 75, Prison Good Conduct; Mandatory Functional Literacy Allowances for incarcerated persons. We think, this bill is Fair, Humane and allows for an "Earned" second chance, an increase in rehabilitation, and a decrease in recidivism by incarcerated/convicted persons in the state of Virginia.
