Government linking welfare to killings

Since the conviction of the Philpotts and Paul Mosley for the death of the Phillpott children in a house fire they started the less reputable elements of the media have tried to make a causal connection between the deaths of the children and the fact that Mick Philpott is on benefits. When questioned George Osborne, the Chencellor of the Exchequer, stated that it was approrpriate to question the link between 'lifestyle' and welfare. In other words, Osborne is making the link between welfare benefits recipients and gross criminality, up to and including ,manslaughter. This is shameful and irresponsible. Mick and Mairead Philpott and Paul Mosley acted extremely irresponsibly and caused the death of six children. That is the end of the story; an individual gross criminal act. The fact that Mick Philpott is on benefits is irrelevant, as George Osborne is fully aware. The purpose of the question being posed was simp-ly to give Mr Osborne the opportunity to make the manslaughter / wlefare link, as another element of justification in the swingeing cuts to benefits and public services in real terms that are currently being forced upon  the British people.

I therefore call for a public apology from Mr Osborne and a full statement from the Prime Minister making clear that the government do NOT make any linkage whatsoever between benefit claiming and criminality.
