A man that has become very important in my life that was going through bad times and when I asked him what was up he proceeded to tell me bits and pieces about his nephew Random Jackson. I did not want to push the family on anything as the had enough sadness in thier lives so I proceeded to go on line to make my own opinion on what was up with the conviction of his nephew. I know what it is like to lose a child my son committed suicide in October, but it did not prepare me for what I had read, I was absolutely appaulled that Random was convicted of murder on the circumstantional evidence that was presented. After reading the articles that came up I am not understanding the Justice system today, is everyone so head strong on getting a conviction that they would just convict anyone to close the case, this is just wrong. The defense had witnesses that another man "bragged" about the committing the crime, can you believe that if another state wrongly convicted a man again? It has happened before and the Innocence Project is proof of that. Newspaper articles stating that jurors were falling asleep and nodding off how can they make an acurrate decision on what was presented to them. The prosecutions witness that testisfied that Curcie was shot in the face and forensic evidence that proves that he was shot in the back of the head... I am not understanding these points and facts that are there, it is like they threw out the real eveidence and kept the circumstantial evidence. How is this closure for anyone when one family is grieving over the death of their son while another is grieving over their wrongly convicted son, while the real murderer seems to still be out there. If this was such a strong case for the prosecution why did they offer Random a 15 year plea deal to start with? Big difference between 15 years and life in prison, this is not justice at all and something needs to be done. I do not personally know Randoms family but my heart goes out to them and also the Curcie family for their loss also. But with that being said this conviction needs to be overturned, Random admitted to drug deals gone bad, so what they go bad everywhere doesnt mean that he killed someone over it..and if you google Random Jackson all the information and articles come up and you can see just what I have seen when I read them that Random was wrongly convicted, so this maybe something for the Innocence Project to look over and try and help out, but please sign the petition to help free once again someone that was convicted of a crime that he did not commit and they can also use this to show that there are others out here that think the same way not even knowing Random but just reading what has happened to him and his family...
