To all who is reading this:

My name is Kimm Sloan I am a mother of 4 beautiful children. I started this petition for them, and for other families and their children around the state of Kansas and any other state that doesn't protect our children from Sex Offenders.

Yes you heard that right SEX OFFENDERS! I recently found out that my ex husband moved 1/2 a block from my son's school (which is also his son). Which is ok if he wasn't a convicted sex offender.

I informed my children' school the day I found out about it. My first initial instinct of course was to protect them. Then as a few days passed, I thought to myself. I don't want this man living here. My kids have not seem him since before he was arrested which was in 1998. It wouldn't be healthy for my kids nor myself to even speak to this man, as long as them running into him on the street. He moved into a hotel room, just about 640 feet from my son's school. This is the man that took my innocent child at the age of 9 and raped her, and forced her to perform oral sex on him.
This man should not be allowed around any kids, (not just mine). He also lives right next door to a bar, and he is an alcoholic.
What is this world coming too? Since the day I found out about this, which was about 2 weeks ago. I have found out there is no state law in Kansas at this very moment that says he CANNOT live next to or across from a school.
I am fighting right now to have this law changed. I also believe they should not be allowed to live close to a park, day care, bar, or playground. Well you please help me to help the legislators of the state of Kansas and other states to change this law. I think it's time we take back our lives so we and our children can live in peace and harmony. Not have to worry about them while they play outside or while they are learning at school.
