In the Year 1982 an organization named Hezbollah (party of god) was founded by Iran to fight the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon. The United States recognizes this group as a terrorist organization, while Europe accepts Hezbollah as a philanthropic group in addition to its terrorist activities because of Hezbollahs part in running hospitals, orphanages and schools. The US understands that having a terrorist wing in their activities renders Hezbollah a non-humanitarian group. The reason for Hezbollahs existence was to rid Lebanon of Israeli occupancy. However, Israel pulled out of south Lebanon in 2000; hence the continuance of Hezbollah should have ended. Yet they still continue to send rockets into Israel and kidnapping Israeli soldiers.
I urge that the United States Government should put pressure on the UN to recognize Hezbollah as a solely terrorist organization.
