History Channel Programming Format

This petition is directed to A&E Television Networks and their sponsors who purchase advertising time on The History Channel.

In the past few years we have seen programming on the History Channel progressively evolve from factually based documentary programs and series to the increasingly popular Reality TV format. As loyal viewers of the network, we feel betrayed and insulted that this format is corrupting what we once used to consider the last bastion of educational programming in the industry of television. We acknowledge the fact that Reality TV is a popular format that will most likely dominate the air waves for years to come. However, we feel that it does not have a proper place on the History Channel.

The signers of this petition vow to boycott any and all national and regional sponsors of the network and their respective products until it reverts to it's original format or changes it's name, preferably the former.
