Improve ESPN Poker Coverage

We are avid poker players who regularly watch poker programming on many stations, including programs on ESPN such as the World Series of Poker. We have found it increasingly difficult, however, to watch your broadcasts for one simple reason: there is an appalling dearth of actual poker analysis. Indeed, a good percentage of the shows consists of glib, one-liners by Norman Chad. This banter is rarely amusing and only interferes with meaningful analysis.

Many of us began watching poker programming on ESPN, and were impressed with the production values. Yet, we have discovered that poker is infinitely more enjoyable to watch when there is substantive discussion of the game.

It would not be difficult for ESPN to include such analysis. For example, Howard Lederer, a professional poker player, regularly offers insightful commentary on the Fox Sports Network. If ESPN were to employ someone similar to Mr. Lederer, we are confident that its poker shows would become much more popular. If nothing is done, however, many of us will invariably watch poker on competing stations instead.

Accordingly, we urge you to hire a serious poker commentator or, at the very least, encourage your present commentators to emphasize analysis rather than inane banter.
