Millions of people die in Africa every year due to poverty, for no good reason. Each year Africa is paying more money to repay debts than it receives in aid. Worldwide aid must double to stop this terrible poverty, and what it leads to including HIV/AIDS and Child Exploitation.
We call upon the Australian Government to set specific action plans to meet the Millennium Development Goals, including increasing aid to 0.7\% of the Gross National Income and to cancel all debt owed to Australia from poverty stricken countries.
