Induction of Chris LeDoux into CMA Hall of Fame

We do ask that the Country Music Association affirm this petition and induct Chris Ledoux in to the Hall of Fame, we as country music and especially Chris LeDoux fans beseech, request and petition for this honor to be extended to the family of the late Chris LeDoux.

Today many country stars today have their own labels, Chris Ledoux was a pioneer in that he started his own label American Cowboy songs in the early 1970's. He was later awarded a platinum and 2 Gold albums by RIAA, in 2005 The Academy of Country Music awarded Chris LeDoux their Pioneer Award.

The Country Music Association awarded the President's Award to Chris LeDoux, it is titled thus (from CMA site)

The President of CMA may present, at his/her discretion, this award to honor individuals making noteworthy contributions to Country Music and/or CMA.

This occurred in New York City at 39Th Annual CMA Awards, the following is a run down of this award as presented to Chris Ledoux

Kix Brooks Enlists Garth Brooks To Honor LeDoux During The 39Th Annual CMA Awards By Performing Good Ride Cowboy
NASHVILLE CMA Board Chairman and host of The 39Th Annual CMA Awards Kix Brooks, of duo Brooks & Dunn, announced today that he will present the CMA Chairmans Award of Merit to late singer/rodeo champion Chris LeDoux, in honor of his outstanding career and contributions to Country Music.
Chris embodies everything thats great about Country Music, Brooks said. He lived with passion, integrity and a commitment to big dreams. Its how he rodeo-ed and it was how he made his music. Chris wasnt larger than life, he was life and thats what the very best of Country Music is made of. It is my pleasure, and my honor, to present the inaugural Chairmans award to someone I respect so much.
To further honor his fallen friend, Brooks enlisted the help of Garth Brooks to perform his personal tribute to LeDoux, Good Ride Cowboy, during The 39Th Annual CMA Awards.
Good Ride Cowboy is up-beat, fun, sincere and everything you want music to be, said CMA Executive Director Ed Benson. Anytime Garth throws his energy, passion and talent behind a project it is a special event, and his performance in tribute to Chris is destined to be a highlight for our viewers.

I think fact that millions of Chris's fans desire to see him honored with this induction, the fact that so many country stars were influenced by and wanted to work with Chris Ledoux. Yet this man was not driven by sales nor charted songs, he sang because he loved to do it. He wanted to entertain fans, to have them leave arenas feeling as though they were entertained and got their money's worth.

For all the recognition, fame and attention Chris received, his focus was on what really mattered. here is what Chris Ledoux wanted to be known for

"What I want to be known for, on top of everything else, is that I was a good husband and family man."
