Senator John Kerry appears to have accepted a gift shotgun in a possibly illegal fashion over the Labor Day weekend in Racine, WV.

In the spirit of fair play, and with the understanding that all federal laws apply evenly to all citizens not currently working out of the Oval Office, we feel that it is important to know if the donor and the recipient were both operating under applicable federal laws as concerns the transfer of a weapon between private parties outside the home state of the recipient.
Given Mr. Kerry's apparent "flexibility" as regards 2nd Amendment issues, and the fact that he had a large role in a law last year that might have banned such weapons, the American people have the right to not only have a good fix on his position, but to know whether or not a Presidential candidate might in fact have bent or broken applicable federal or state laws in this matter.
