We, the undersigned, hereby petition The Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr Jeremy Rapke QC, to file an appeal in the Court of Appeal against the suspended sentence of Jayke Baldwin.
RELEVANT INFORMATION
Melissa Neylon was killed in car accident on February 17, 2009. Her boyfriend at the time, Jayke Baldwin, was driving at 80km/h at least, in a 50km/h speed limit zone, when he lost control of the car. Risking both of their lives, Melissa lost hers.
Jayke Baldwin pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death, yet had his three year sentence wholly suspended.
Melissa was only days from obtaining her drivers licence, and beginning university. Her life was cruelly cut short.

It is unfair that a loved one, a dear friend was last and the person resposible gets to walk free. He should have known then consequences of his actions and justice should be served.
