Keep Hayr Barthev in Southern California

As a member of the largest Armenian community outside Armenia and the Middle East, Christian Armenians throughout Southern California have recently learned that, due to circumstances beyond his control, Very Rev. Fr. Barthev Gulumian will be leaving back to Lebanon.

Since 2005, Fr. Barthev has been conducting weekly Bible studies throughout churches within the Western Prelacy, including but not limited to St. Mary's in Glendale, St. Sarkis in Pasadena, and St. Garabed in Hollywood. Additionally, Fr. Barthev has conducted numerous studies, lectures and meetings with youth, young adults and adults alike within these same churches. Throughout these years, Fr. Barthev has touched the lives of many. Through his immense knowledge provided through the Grace of God, he has been successful in strengthening the faith of hundreds and thousands; he has explained the Bible like no other preacher; he has become a father, brother, and a mentor; he has set an example to many with his passion for sharing the Word of God. He has visited and changed the lives of hundreds of prisoners on a weekly basis. He has cried with those in sorrow; he has prayed with the weak; he has stood against evil; he has taught to kneel before our Savior.

He has just begun...

The choice, the decision, and the power to bring him back rest with you. Fr. Barthev MUST come back, or the work he began will weaken and perish. Thousands of believers and faithful Christian Armenians will again sway from the path of the Christian life. He is much needed and he has additional work to do with a weak and struggling community that has continued to bring families--young and old--back to church.

Fr. Barthev is not only a servant of our Lord, but he leads his life by example just as Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:5 "for what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus."
