Keep New Jersey Students in our Charter School

Pennsylvania recently passed a law stating that any current students who lived in other states could not attend its charter schools. Coincidentally, several of us commute each day from New Jersey. Remember, these students have already been accepted to the school. They are now being told to transfer back to their home schools immediately. The state will not allow these students to finish high school at LVPA.
This petition was started by students. We are friends and classmates of those who are being told to leave. We know better than anyone that LVPA is more than just a school. It's a place to find your dream, to grow in your artistic strength. Student who could not afford professional tutelage for their passion now have the opportunity to be taught and challenged in ways they never were before. Needless to say, the New Jersey residents who were told to leave the school are devastated.
By signing this petition you would join those of us who have these students' backs. You could help us have a voice. Let them finish the time that THEY earned at the school they worked so hard to be accepted to. Whether you heard about this cause from a friend or are directly involved with this sudden conflict, we ask you to please help these kids continue doing what they love.
So here it is in black and white: we ask to allow the out-of-state residing students who are currently enrolled in charter schools such as LVPA to continue attending until they graduate. (unless they choose to transfer, drop out, are expelled, etc.) this would include the incoming freshmen who have been accepted. from this point forward, no out-of-state residents would be permitted to apply to charter schools. simply, we ask that the students currently accepted be allowed to finish.
