Keep the Poquoson Green Bag Trash Program

We, the concerned citizens of Poquoson, Virginia, request that the City Council delay any change in the current green bag trash program until a proper study can be made to determine if there is a way to improve the current system or if a different system is called for. This study should be open for citizen involvement and should include people who understand waste management. We wish to encourage recycling and feel that any change to the current waste/ recycling program needs to be done very carefully and deliberately in order to best protect the future of our city.

I agree that the "green bags" are a little inconvenient, but it is BY FAR the best incentive to keep trash down and recycling optimal. Conservation and recycling our precious resources is what is best for the environment and the right thing to do.
