It is a reprehensible notion to even consider the downgrading of Worthing Hospital. A town the size of Worthing NEEDS it's own hospital. The people of Worthing deserve a facility nearby and should not be expected to rely on hospitals so far away as Brighton or Chichester. Imagine an emergency occuring in Worthing town centre in the middle of the day, with the casualty having to be transported all the way to Brighton for treatment. Moreover, Worthing has a superb building, and some of it's departments are among the best in the country, for example the maternaty unit.
The public are up in arms over this matter, and rightly so. Indeed, there is a financial deficit to make up, but downgrading such a facility, where the public out cry is clearly axiomatic borders on farcical.
To that end, to the people of Worthing and beyond, all I can say is keep fighting to show the decision makers what should be done!!!

It is stupidity to close worthing hospital! There is enough problems with overcrowding as it is let alone make everyone go to either chichester or Brighton. Both Worthing and Chichester need to stay open

I had an injury to my mouth, if I had had to travel to Brighton at the time I would have lost my top lip, and would have endured years of corrective surgery. All I have is a little scar on my top lip. Closing Worthing hospital is ridiculous!
