We, the gamers, believe that it should be entirely up to us whether or not we enable multiple dynamic light sources. (Flashlights)
This sort of technology has already been demonstrated in games such as Garry's Mod -- A mod that makes use the the Orange Box 2K7 engine. An engine that has no dual core support, and, by comparison, looks, and runs worse than the L4D source engine.
Furthermore, in early play testing videos, multiple dynamic light sources were CLEARLY present in the demonstration videos... Yet, the feature was cut out of the final release.
You have expressed that the ability to see multiple dynamic light sources was removed in order to accommodate players using low spec machines.
Yet, this reasoning is flawed and makes no sense... Especially since one of Valve's crowning achievements with the Source Engine is its ability to scale to any kind of computer. Whether it be a single core budget computer, or a quad core monstrosity.
It is for this reason that we humbly request that Valve re-instate the ability to see multiple dynamic flashlights.
Those who currently have low spec machines won't be missing out on anything, in any case. Simply making this a variable option in the graphics properties would please everyone.
