Blockade of IP addresss originating from China, Japan, Korea & Taiwan from accessing and using services provided by NCSOFT for the North American Edition of Lineage 2: The Chaotic Chronicle.)

Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle is a compelling massive multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) released some months ago to the North American market.

This MMORPG in its infancy has been damaged to a substantial degree by the online virtual goods market. The creation of online companies who exchange virtual merchandise for real world currency has dramatically changed the landscape and has become detriment to this franchises success.

A North American player playing Lineage II today is confronted daily with the employees of these virtual retailers. The nature of the game is player vs. player, and since it is a business after all, online retailers fight savagely over higher profit areas within the game using common griefing tactics to assure their productivity.

The claiming over areas and defending of those areas is not the reason for this petition, The main reason for this petition is balance. A online employee of these retailers does not play Lineage II for pleasure, they play for profit, Levels, Items, quest completion all the things that make a game a game are of no importance.

A regular North American player however plays the game to become powerful, complete his quests, gain a higher level of achievement, and with that a higher degree of attachment and desire to protect his/her accomplishments. To some degree this inhibit his/her ability to effectively govern those who do not.

The result of this;
A player that has nothing to loose makes the environment nearly unplayable for others, in the pursuit of monetary gain. A player that has everything to loose is unable to self govern effectivly because of his desire to protect his own personal investment.

Often these employees play the same character/account on a rotational basis just like a 24 hour company, they have shifts resulting in one character being played continuously ultimately making that character more powerful then even the leading edge of the servers population.

This abuse is prevalent in the countries named within this petition, internet cafйs within these countries are headquarters for these online retailers of virtual merchandise. Being as the online genre of gaming is very popular in these countries they have no shortage of employees at all.

At this time, the North American community is showing a lot of anger, discontent, and sadness over the current situation within this game. These types of games are meant to be fun, and a lot of people are just not having fun because of these companies.

NCSOFT: It is the written declaration of the North American community that you blockade IP addresss originating from within China, Japan, Korea & Taiwan because of balancing issues brought upon this products integrity by profit seeking online retailers using employees from these countries. These employees are detrimentally affecting the balance of the game and need to be stopped.

The purpose of this petition is to make NCSOFT aware of your current displeasure with the current situation
