Make A Difference- Change MTV

MTV stands for Music Television. This channel is meant to specialise in music and it is expected of this channel, like every other music channel in the world, to play music- namely video clips.

MTV is also noctorious for its ability to air reality shows; so much so that there seems to be more reality shows than music videos- and music videos are relatively short.

In saying that, I believe a change should occur. Calling the channel 'MTV' is generally lying to the public. MTV is aired in many countries all over the globe, making that a lot of people being lied to. I am not a 'fan' of being lied to, as are most people; and so the lies should stop.

I am allowing MTV the choice of two changes:

i) Stop airing, or at least cut down massively on the amount of reality shows being aired on the channel (especially Virgin Diaries- a show where a fifteen year old thinks the only reason they are lonely is because they have not had sex is extremely degrading to humanity and affects children massively; especially as children are the main viewers of MTV; and when a marathon of the show is aired on a Sunday, then every moral the young viewer has grown up with is thrown out the window). In place of these degrading television shows (which seemingly rotate around the terms 'lust' and 'want' [Virgin Diaries, Pimp My Ride, etc], music videos of a wide selection of genres should be aired, with inappropriate videos not being aired, or at leats aired at a late time as children do tend to be the main viewers of the channel.

ii) Change the name of the channel. The channel cannot be called Music Television if the majority of what is being aired is relaity shows.



With the help of supporters, one of these changes will happen. Not only will you be helping a good cause, you will also be pathing a better future for our youth as their access to degrading and promiscuous shows on the channel will be minimised greatly. MTV also proves that sex does sell, but what is not being realised is that the children are buying (though MTV sure know that).

Save humanity- change MTV.
