Flag day is recognized on the February 15, which is the very day the flag rose over our nation in 1965 for the first time. The Liberals under Jean Chrйtien created this holiday to honour Canadas history and the creation of a symbol that makes us proud both home and abroad.
NDP MP Peggy Nash will be introducing a private members bill to make Flag Day a statutory holiday. We ask that the government support this wonderful bill.
